Native to: Sumatra. Found in tropical forests.
The largest species in the genus possessing the largest unbranched inflorescence of all flowering plants. Popular conservatory plant known for its enormous carrion scented inflorescence and spathe.
Horticultural notes: Amorphophallus requires a period of dry dormancy after the leaf senescences. The soil should be kept barely moist until new growth appears. This species is very prone to rot.
