Native to: Asia to Northern Australia. Found in tropical forests.
Cultivated by many cultures in Asia and Africa for its edible tubers. Note the epidermal protrusions on the petiole.
Horticultural notes: Amorphophallus requires a period of dry dormancy after the leaf senescences. The soil should be kept barely moist until new growth appears.
