Considered to be the first, ancient branch of Flowering Plant evolution, Amborella has attracted much attention in the last few years. Plants are unisexual, each plant producing either tiny male flowers only or tiny female flowers only (dioecious). The flowers are somewhat irregular, with more or less spiral arrangement of parts and no differentiation of sepals and petals. |
