LHBC 408 | |
Family: Burseraceae | |
Native to: Neotropics, widespread
DECIDUOUS TREE. Leaves fall in the dry season. All Burseras have fragrant, sticky sap and many such as this one are used locally to make rustic incense.
Horticultural notes: Often grown as a living fence. The stems easily root even with diameters up to several inches. By placing these in rows in tropical areas one can have a fence that actually grows through the years. |
