SARCOCAUL.DECIDUOUS (DRY SEASON). The pink or white flowers have numerous long stamens like a shaving brush. A large tree in tropical dry forest, with a smooth, somewhat swollen bole with characteristic green diamond pattern. The trunk has a hollow sound when tapped. The wood is of little value because it is light and "punky." | |
