Robinson Shewell Abbott was an American biologist and professor. He earned a Ph.D. at Cornell University in 1956, with Walter C. Muenscher as his advisor. Abbott was a National Science Foundation Fellow at Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 1964, and taught at Smith College. He began his career at the University of Minnesota in 1961, teaching a variety of courses including Plant Ecology, Plant Taxonomy and Oceanography. Abbott was active professionally as well as politically, serving as a Democratic Delegate in his state. |
