Frederick William Albertson

Frederick Albertson was an American grassland ecologist and entomologist who served on the faculty of Kansas State College, Fort Hays, for his entire academic career. His expertise in drought and range management on the midwestern plains was well-known, and his efforts resulted in better management plans. Albertson spent two years in India addressing similar grassland management problems there. The book Grasslands of the Great Plains, published in 1956 and co-authored with his Ph.D. advisor John E. Weaver, saw wide use in its day.
