| William Lanier Hunt, an American horticulturist who grew up near a commercial nursery in North Carolina, became himself a leading instructor of horticulture and a popular author gardening books and magazine articles. Hunt established the Hunt Arboretum on land he donated to the University of North Carolina and was a driving force in the development and design of the North Carolina Botanical Garden. |
