William Arthur Anderson

William A. Anderson was an American botanist and expert on Appalachian ferns who earned his doctorate at Harvard University. He taught at University of Iowa and curated its herbarium until his untimely death at 49. Anderson was an early researcher on and proponent of the reestablishment of prairie plant communities.
